<p>The story revolves around Tanushree Khurana, fondly called Tanu Khurana and Rishi Singh Bedi who are childhood friends. One day, Tanu saves Rishi and a sadhu woman (Katyani Bai) prophesies that Tanu and Rishi's kundli matches very well, and Tanu will shield Rishi from danger. But Rano, Rishi's mother, dislikes Tanu's family and brainwashes her husband Raaj's mind to move to America.?</p>

The story revolves around the married lives of two sisters, Simar (Dipika Kakar) and Roli (Avika Gor) who get married to Prem (Shoaib Ibrahim / Dheeraj Dhoopar) and Siddhant (Manish Raisinghan), respectively and how they become the perfect daughters-in-law of Bharadwaj Household.

<p>This is a story highlighting the grave issue of bonded labour in Indian villages. Chakor is the show?s protagonist and her name symbolizes the unrealised hopes of countless Indians, suppressed by the barbaric practice of bonded-labour.?</p>
